Backflow Incense Burner – Dragon Over Buddha

About this piece

A dragon coils protectively over a seated Buddha in this ceramic backflow burner, and the smoke runs between them in a slow, silky cascade. It is a bold, atmospheric piece with a real sense of drama.

In Eastern tradition, the dragon is a symbol of strength and good fortune and the Buddha represents calm, so the pairing sums up strength within stillness. It is a striking gift for a collector of dragon pieces or a lover of meditation.

Place a backflow cone on the burner's plate, light the tip, then let the flame die so the cone smoulders. Within moments the smoke begins to pour down in slow ribbons. Never leave burning incense unattended, and keep the burner on a heatproof surface. It is a pleasure to watch at the end of a long day, when the house is quiet.
