What is artisan tea?
Artisan tea simply means tea chosen for its character: whole leaves, thoughtful blends and a good flavour, rather than the dust in a standard teabag. Our 50g packs include green tea with lemon and ginger, rooibos, black teas such as Chai and Cinnamon, and both culinary and ceremonial matcha.
How to choose tea and tea accessories
For a calm, caffeine-free cup in the evening, look at the red bush (rooibos) blends, such as Red Bush Relax. For a morning boost, choose a black tea like Narnaja or a bright matcha. Ceremonial matcha is intended for whisking and sipping on its own, while culinary matcha suits lattes and baking.

Questions and answers
What is the difference between ceremonial and culinary matcha?
Ceremonial matcha is the finest grade, made for whisking with water and drinking on its own. Culinary matcha has a stronger, slightly more bitter taste, so it suits lattes, smoothies and baking.
How do I make loose leaf tea?
Use a teaspoon of leaves per cup in an infuser or teapot. Pour over water just off the boil for black and herbal teas, and slightly cooler water for green tea. Steep for three to five minutes, then remove the leaves.
Is rooibos caffeine free?
Rooibos, also called red bush, is naturally free of caffeine, which is why many people enjoy it in the evening. Always check the label of any blend, as some contain other ingredients.
