Brass Door Knocker – Horse's Head
About this piece
A proud horse's head in solid brass, mane sweeping and nostrils flared, gives your front door an instant country-house welcome. Brand new, it gleams like polished gold; left to the weather, it mellows into a deeper, antique tone that suits old stone and painted timber alike.
Horses have been symbols of loyalty, strength and good fortune in British homes for centuries, from horse brasses on the hearth to the horseshoe over the stable door. This knocker carries that spirit to your threshold. It is made by a family-owned workshop in Indonesia and designed to last a lifetime, making it a thoughtful gift for riders, horse lovers or anyone settling into a new home.
Mount it at eye height on a front door, stable door or garden gate using screws suited to your woodwork, as fittings are not supplied. Let the brass age gracefully, or polish it now and then with a soft cloth to bring back its bright glow.
