Brass Door Knocker – Stag's Head
About this piece
A noble stag's head in solid brass, antlers branching proudly, turns an ordinary front door into the entrance to a hunting lodge or forest cottage. The bright metal ages over time to a deep, warm patina, adding to its sense of quiet history.
In British folklore the white stag is a messenger from the otherworld and the antlered figure of the greenwood is honoured in many old traditions, so the stag makes a meaningful guardian for your home. This knocker is made by a family-owned workshop in Indonesia and is built to last a lifetime. It is a lovely gift for woodland lovers, walkers, or friends who have just found their dream country home.
Mount it centrally on a wooden front door or garden gate using screws that suit your door, as fittings are not supplied. Enjoy the natural ageing of the brass, or give it an occasional polish with a soft cloth to keep it glowing.
