About this piece
A large calcite geode, 15-18cm across, with a heavy, craggy shell and a crystalline hollow that sparkles. At around 3kg it has real presence, the kind of piece that becomes the centre of a shelf.
Geodes are hollow stones in which crystals have grown slowly over a very long time. A geode this size is a statement gift for a collector, a housewarming present with substance, or a centrepiece for a meditation room.
Display it on a shelf, mantelpiece or windowsill where the light can catch the crystals inside. It sits well on a sturdy side table or the floor of a living room corner. Dust it gently with a soft brush and keep it away from water.
