About this piece
Chakra Connections is a large batik wall hanging in vivid, saturated colour, measuring approx. 106 x 90cm. Each line of the design was first drawn in hot wax directly onto the fabric, so the finished piece has the hand-made softness and depth that printed cloth cannot copy.
To make it, natural dyes are applied, the fabric is stretched and sun dried, and the wax is then washed out to reveal the final design. The chakras come from Indian yogic tradition, and this piece is perfect for adding colour and symbolism to a bedroom, yoga room or reading corner. It is a striking gift for a yoga lover.
Hang it flat on a wall using a rail, dowel or pins along the top edge, or drape it over a sofa or bed as a throw. Choose a spot out of strong direct sunlight to keep the colours bright, and give it a gentle shake to freshen it now and then.
