About this piece
A calcite geode in rich purple, framed in a black rock shell. The crystals inside gleam in violet shades against the dark exterior, like a tiny amethyst cave.
Geodes are hollow stones in which crystals have formed over a long time, which makes each one unique. The purple colour is artificial, applied to the geode and its crystals, so it is best seen as a decorative display piece. It is a pretty gift for anyone who loves purple, whether or not they collect crystals.
Display it open on a shelf, desk or windowsill where the light can reach the crystals. Dust gently with a soft brush and keep it dry, as the colour is applied and could be affected by water.
