Ganesh Singing Bowl
About this piece
A compact brass singing bowl with a clear, bright voice, engraved on the outside with traditional script and finished with a raised Ganesh motif on the base. At 567g it sits comfortably in the hand, and its note rings out light and uplifting rather than heavy.
Ganesh is the much-loved elephant-headed figure of Hindu tradition, honoured as a remover of obstacles and a guardian of new beginnings. Placing him on the base of a bowl gives the piece a quiet sense of blessing without taking away from its clean, balanced shape. It is a thoughtful gift for a housewarming, a new venture or a friend starting out on a fresh chapter.
Hold the bowl in an open palm or set it on a cushion, then strike the rim softly with a mallet and let the tone drift away. Use it to open a meditation, to mark the start of a working day or simply to clear the mood in a room after a busy afternoon.
