Hand-Carved Wooden Doorstop – Dormouse
About this piece
A sleepy hand-carved dormouse curled up on your floor, quietly holding the door open. Its round body, tiny ears and smooth wooden finish make it one of the sweetest helpers in the house.
Each doorstop is individually hand-carved by skilled artisans in Bali from Jempinis, a sustainably managed Indonesian hardwood. It is sturdy enough to keep a door open while looking like a little woodland creature has come to stay. The hazel dormouse is a much-loved, rarely seen resident of British hedgerows, making this a charming gift for animal lovers, nature lovers and cottage-dwellers.
Tuck it against an internal door to let a breeze through on a summer day, or simply place it on a shelf or hearth as a decorative piece. Pair it with a matching kitten or gecko for a carved menagerie.
