A big, artfully misshapen glass bowl melted onto natural Gamal wood, its edges rippling and dipping like water frozen mid-wave. The glass is clear and glossy, and the irregular outline gives it the feel of a sculpture rather than a simple dish.
Glass shaped over natural Gamal wood is a lovely marriage of earthy and chic. Because each piece is formed by hand, the outline, thickness and wood grain differ from one to the next, which makes it a one-of-a-kind gift for a friend who loves houseplants and handcrafted things.
Pop in a trailing cutting, a stem or two, or a few polished stones and set it where light can pass through the glass. Wipe gently with a soft cloth and do not soak the wood.
