Molten Glass Bowl on Whitewash Wood – Large
About this piece
A large molten glass bowl on a whitewashed wood base, standing about 24cm tall with the glass bowl itself 16cm high and 10cm across. The pale, chalky wood makes the glass look even clearer, like water resting on a driftwood shelf.
There is something quietly pleasing about glass that has been coaxed into shape over real timber. The wood stays rooted and rustic while the glass adds light and movement, and because every piece is made by hand, the finished object is never repeated. It is a thoughtful present for anyone who adores plants and natural materials.
Use it for a cutting in water, a small succulent, dried flowers or a handful of crystals. Wipe the glass with a soft damp cloth and the wood with a dry one, and keep the wood from sitting in water.
