Runes are the old alphabet of the Germanic peoples, and later became a divination system; the exact origins are uncertain, but they are thought to have been used for around two thousand years. Bloodstone is traditionally carried for courage and vitality, and a March birthstone. It is a fitting gift for a March birthday, or for an adventurous friend.
