Selenite, named after the moon goddess Selene, is traditionally believed to cleanse and recharge crystals placed upon it. The slim bar shape fits neatly on a windowsill, shelf or bedside table, and makes a lovely, inexpensive gift for a crystal beginner or a friend who loves pretty, natural objects.
Lay your tumble stones or jewellery along the bar overnight, or use it to edge a small altar. Keep it dry, as selenite is soft and dissolves in water, and dust it gently with a soft dry cloth. Each natural piece varies slightly.
