Tabletop Water Feature – Golden Buddha Vitarka Mudra, 30cm
About this piece
A golden Buddha raises his hand in the Vitarka mudra on this 30cm tabletop fountain, the water falling softly beside him and a built-in light warming the gold. The figure is dignified and quietly expressive.
The Vitarka mudra is the gesture of teaching and discussion in Buddhist art, with the thumb and finger joined. Feng shui tradition holds that the north corner of a home represents the water element, and that a fountain in a hallway or home office should have its water flowing towards the inside of the house. It suits a thoughtful gift for a teacher or student.
Place it where conversation or study happens, such as a hallway, home office or north corner. It comes in an elegant ecological box with a user manual. Stand it on a firm, level surface close to a socket, and check the water level now and then.
