About this piece
A hand-carved bird house made from a natural tree trunk, with a wonderfully grumpy old man's face carved into the wood and an opening for birds to enter. Rustic and full of personality, it will make you smile every time you pass.
Made in Indonesia, the expressive face is carved directly into the trunk, with the bark left intact around the body for natural texture, so each house is unique. A sturdy hanging rope attached to a metal loop on top lets you hang it from a branch, bracket or hook, and the hollow interior is suitable for small garden birds. A characterful gift for gardeners and folklore lovers.
Hang it in a quiet, sheltered spot among trees or on a fence, where the old man can keep watch over the garden.
