About this piece
A hand-carved bird house made in Indonesia from a natural tree trunk, with a wise owl's face carved into the front and an opening for visiting garden birds. The wood still carries its bark and grain, and the owl looks out with a great deal of character.
The owl has long stood for wisdom in folklore, and a woodland owl keeping watch over the garden is a charming idea. This is a lovely gift for a gardener, a nature lover or a friend with a woodland feel to their home.
Place or hang it in a sheltered corner of the garden, a patio or a wall. It weighs about 3kg, so make sure the hook or post is strong. The wood is natural, so each piece will vary slightly.
