108 Bead Mala – Rock Crystal
About this piece
Clear rock crystal beads, 108 of them, bright as spring water and shot through with tiny veils and feathers inside each stone. When the light hits the strand it throws small rainbows across the table.
Rock crystal is traditionally the stone of clarity, often called the master stone because it is used in so many traditions. A clean, simple mala that goes with every outfit, it would suit a beginner, a minimalist or a friend who likes things bright and uncluttered.
Rest it in your right hand, draped over the middle finger, and move one bead at a time with your thumb as you breathe or repeat a word that matters to you. Tradition keeps the index finger out of it, as it stands for the ego.
