Amyris essential oil has a soft, woody and gently balsamic aroma reminiscent of sandalwood, which is why it is often called West Indian sandalwood. It brings a calm, warm and grounding scent to a room or blend.
The oil is steam distilled from the wood and branches of the Amyris balsamifera tree, sourced from Jamaica. The wood is so rich in oil that it burns like a candle, earning it the local name candlewood. Many people use it in meditation blends and as a more affordable alternative to true sandalwood in home fragrance.
Add a few drops to a diffuser or an oil burner with water, or blend into a carrier oil for massage. Dilute before use on skin. Keep out of reach of children, avoid contact with eyes and store in a cool, dark place.
