Backflow Incense Burner – Zen Circle of Life
About this piece
A Zen circle design in ceramic gives this backflow burner a smooth, balanced form. The smoke flows around and through the circle in slow loops.
The circle is a classic Zen symbol of wholeness and the continuing cycle of life. It suits a minimalist space, a meditation corner or a desk, and makes a thoughtful gift for a mindful friend.
Place a backflow cone on the burner's plate, light the tip, then let the flame die so the cone smoulders. Within moments the smoke begins to pour down in slow ribbons. Never leave burning incense unattended, and keep the burner on a heatproof surface. It is a pleasure to watch at the end of a long day, when the house is quiet.
