Banjara Smudge Cups – Palo Santo
About this piece
Six handmade palo santo smudge cups that smoulder with sweet, woody and citrusy notes. They're a neat, easy way to bring the much-loved scent of holy wood into your home.
Palo santo, meaning holy wood, grows wild in the dry forests of Ecuador and other tropical regions of the Americas, and has long been used in indigenous ceremony. Many people burn it to welcome creativity, love and good fortune and to brighten the feel of a space. These cups are handmade in India, approx. 3cm each, and not tested on animals.
Set a cup on the accompanying metal plate, light it and let it smoulder in a well-ventilated space, avoiding fans and windy conditions. It's lovely before creative work or a new moon ritual. Keep out of reach of children, and never leave burning incense unattended.
