About this piece
Seven flags hang in a row, each a different vivid colour, created by drawing the design in hot wax directly onto the fabric. After dyeing, the wax is washed away, leaving crisp patterns that glow against the cloth.
Natural dyes colour the rayon, which is stretched and sun-dried so the colours come alive. The seven colours follow the chakras from Indian yogic tradition, each linked with a different energy centre of the body.
