Brass Door Knocker – Ram's Head
About this piece
Curled horns, a strong brow and a calm, watchful face: this brass ram's head brings a touch of old farmhouse character to any front door. Its golden finish catches the morning light, then slowly softens to a rich, weathered tone that looks as though it has hung there for generations.
The ram is the sign of Aries and an old emblem of courage, new beginnings and the turning of the farming year, which makes it a fitting guardian for a threshold. Each knocker is made by a family-owned workshop in Indonesia and built for a lifetime of knocks. Give it to an Aries friend, a couple moving into a cottage, or anyone who loves rustic, rural details.
Fix it to a front door, porch door or garden gate with screws chosen for your door, as fittings are not included. Leave the brass to age naturally for a heritage look, or buff it occasionally with a soft cloth if you like a little more sparkle.
