About this piece
A mini goldfish-bowl shape in molten glass, around 20cm across, resting on a root of Gamal wood. The glass bulges softly like a bubble, and the wood beneath it curls and twists like roots reaching for water.
Molten glass on wood is a Balinese-inspired craft in which glass is shaped over a piece of natural Gamal wood and left to harden into its curves, so the glass fits the timber like a hand in a glove. No two pieces are alike, and it makes a gift with real character for a plant lover or a new home.
Use it for a cutting in water, a small succulent, dried flowers or a handful of crystals. Wipe the glass with a soft damp cloth and the wood with a dry one, and keep the wood from sitting in water.
