About this piece
A long, slim banner in a full rainbow of dyed colour, the chakra bands flowing from one shade into the next like light through glass.
The seven chakras are the energy centres of yoga tradition, and rainbow colours are the classic way to show them. Made using the batik method, the design is first drawn in hot wax directly on the fabric, then coloured with natural dyes. After the wax is washed out and the fabric sun dried, the colours come alive. It makes a cheerful gift for a yoga lover or a bedroom needing colour.
Hang it on a wall, over a door or down a narrow stretch where a long drop looks best, or from a pole in a window. Keep it out of damp, and gently shake out dust now and then.
