Coconut & Capiz Wind Chime – Blue Dolphins, 30cm
About this piece
Little blue dolphins leap from a length of driftwood in this 30cm Capiz shell wind chime, each one catching the light in a shimmer of sea colour. When the shells knock together, they give a soft, clear clink that brings the seaside to mind.
Handmade by small family businesses in Bali, using beach-sourced driftwood and Capiz, a well-known shell that makes a lovely sound as it moves in the breeze. Many people believe wind chimes protect their surroundings from evil spirits and negative energy, and they are a classic way to add a gentle atmosphere. A thoughtful present for a dolphin lover, a bathroom or a coastal-style bedroom.
Hang the dolphins in a bright place, by a window, in a hallway or on a sheltered veranda, where air movement will set them gently swaying. They look especially pretty with morning sun passing through the shell. Keep them out of heavy rain.
