Tibetan Tingsha – Lucky Symbols, 6cm
About this piece
A pair of Tibetan tingsha, approx. 6cm across, engraved with traditional lucky symbols. Strike them together and a pure, high ring floats out, bright and clear.
Tingsha are small Tibetan cymbals joined by a cord, traditionally used to begin and end meditation and to clear a room. The lucky symbols stand for blessings, protection and good fortune. Their handcrafted feel makes them a charming gift for a yoga teacher or a friend who loves Tibetan culture.
Hold the cord so the two bells hang freely, then let their edges meet in a gentle, glancing strike. Listen as the note rings, then wait for silence. Ring them to mark the start of a meditation, or to refresh the air in a room.
