Driftwood Bee & Insect House
About this piece
A little house for the garden, put together by hand from recycled driftwood, with all the weathered grain and soft, sun-bleached character that only wood with a past can have. Hang or prop it among the flowerbeds and it quietly invites visitors in.
Bee and insect houses are a small, kind gesture towards the creatures that make a garden bloom, and this one is built to welcome both birds and insects. It is a lovely gift for a gardener, a nature lover or anyone who likes to watch the garden come alive, and it works well as a housewarming present or a birthday surprise.
Choose a sheltered spot, ideally out of the strongest wind and in good light, and fix it firmly to a fence, wall or post. Then simply wait and watch. Because each box is made from recycled driftwood, expect natural variation in colour, grain and shape from one to the next.
