About this piece
A compact steel tongue drum, 16cm across, engraved with an Om mandala. The tuned tongues give a clear, soothing sound that lingers and softly fades, easy to play even if you have never touched an instrument.
Tongue drums like this are played with the fingertips or soft mallets, and each tuned tongue gives a different note. It is a friendly gift for beginners as well as musicians, for a meditation corner, or for someone who loves quiet sound. Om is the sacred syllable of Hindu and Buddhist tradition, and the mandala around it suits a drum made for slowing down and staying focused.
Rest it on your lap or a table, and tap the tongues lightly with your fingers in any order. Let each note ring out, and keep it dry.
