Large Ritual Bowl Incense Cone Holder – Om, 11x6cm

About this piece

The Om symbol is carved into this broad mango wood bowl, a single sacred syllable set into warm, grainy timber. At 11cm wide and 6cm deep, it holds an incense cone comfortably and has the quiet look of something made for ritual rather than for show.

Om is traditionally regarded as the primordial sound in Hindu, Buddhist and Jain practice, often chanted at the start of meditation or yoga. That makes this bowl a natural gift for a yoga teacher, a keen meditator or anyone who likes to begin the day with a moment of calm.

Rest a cone in the centre of the bowl, light the tip, then blow out the flame and let it smoulder. Set it on a heat-resistant surface and never leave burning incense unattended. When it has cooled, tip out the ash and wipe the wood with a dry cloth.
