About this piece
A tall, wise face emerging from a carved tree trunk, its long features weathered and watchful. This Old Man of the Woods, around 50cm tall, brings an ancient, slightly mysterious presence to garden or home.
The spirit of the woods appears in folklore across Britain, from the Green Man of medieval churches to tales of old guardians who watch over forests. This carving is fashioned in Bali from offcuts of Chinaberry and hibiscus trunks, so every face is unique. It makes a memorable gift for gardeners, folklore lovers and anyone who feels at home among trees.
Stand him at the end of a garden path, among ferns in a shady border or beside a patio door. Indoors, he makes a striking guardian beside a hearth or on a woodland-themed altar.
