Selenite takes its name from Selene, the Greek goddess of the moon, and it is easy to see why: the milky crystal fibres catch and soften the light with a lunar glow. Many people use a selenite bowl to rest their other crystals and jewellery, as a calm, moon-touched place to set things down.
