Selenite Sphere – 5-6cm
About this piece
A polished selenite sphere around 5-6cm across, milky and pearly, like a small moon in the palm. The fine silky lines in the stone shift as you turn it, catching the light from every side.
Selenite takes its name from Selene, the Greek goddess of the moon, and it is easy to see why: the milky crystal fibres catch and soften the light with a lunar glow. In crystal lore it is linked with the third eye and crown, and some say it encourages purity and honesty. The sphere is a classic of crystal lore, a symbol of wholeness, which makes this a thoughtful gift for a moon-lover or a new home.
Hold it for a few slow breaths, or set it on a stand, altar or LED light block where it can glow in the evening. Many people also keep one on a desk as a calm focal point. Selenite is soft and dissolves in water, so keep it dry and dust it gently with a cloth.
