Spheres & eggs

Crystal spheres and eggs are smooth, polished and satisfying to hold. Browse gemstone spheres with stands in amethyst, clear quartz, rose quartz, lapis, moonstone, jade and tourmaline, in 40mm and 50mm sizes, each ready to display.

Why choose a crystal sphere?

A sphere is a complete, balanced shape with no sharp points, which many people find soothing to hold and display. In folk practice, crystal balls were also used for scrying, a way of gazing into the stone to quiet the mind. Today a sphere is just as often chosen as a lovely home decoration, a gift or a meditation companion.

How to choose a gemstone sphere

Pick the stone first. In crystal tradition, amethyst is linked with calm, rose quartz with love and self-kindness, clear quartz with clarity, lapis with truth, moonstone with intuition, and Indian jade with luck. Aura finishes, like Amethyst Aura and Rose Quartz Titanium Aura, add a shimmering, rainbow sheen.

Then consider size. Our spheres are 40mm or 50mm and come with a stand, so they sit upright without rolling. 40mm is easy to hold, while 50mm makes more of a display. There are also faceted balls and stands if you prefer sparkle.

How to care for a sphere

Keep your sphere on its stand away from windowsills with strong sun, because a polished ball can focus light. Dust with a soft cloth and cleanse it in moonlight or with smoke.

If you like a sphere, try our crystal balls and scrying range, or explore points, towers and obelisks. The crystal meanings guide will help you choose your stone.

Questions and answers

What is a crystal sphere used for?

People use spheres for display, meditation, scrying and as gifts. In folk tradition, gazing into a crystal ball was used to still the mind and invite insight. Many people simply love the smooth feel of the stone.

Why does a crystal sphere come with a stand?

A stand keeps the sphere upright so it cannot roll away, and it shows off the stone at its best. Our gemstone spheres are supplied with a stand, so they are ready to display as soon as they arrive.

Is it safe to leave a crystal ball in the sun?

It is best not to. A polished sphere can act like a lens and focus sunlight, which may be a fire risk, and strong sun can fade some stones. Display it somewhere out of direct sun.
