Backflow Incense Burner – Hand & Lotus Flower
About this piece
A small ceramic hand holds a lotus flower in this compact backflow burner. At 160g it fits easily on a shelf or desk, and the smoke falls down the hand in slow, pale curls.
The lotus rises clean from muddy water and is a symbol of purity and renewal in many cultures, and the open hand suggests offering and receiving. It is a good small gift for a yoga teacher, a friend starting something new, or yourself.
Burn a backflow cone in the top dish, and let the smoke fall slowly through the design. Place it on a stable, heatproof surface, away from draughts, children and pets, and never leave burning incense unattended. It looks especially lovely at dusk, with a lamp turned low and a favourite book beside you.
