Backflow Incense Burner – Zen Pebbles Classic

About this piece

A classic arrangement of smooth ceramic pebbles surrounds the hollow of this backflow burner. Smoke slips between the stones and gathers in the base, like mist over a garden stream.

Pebbles are an enduring Zen garden image of calm and balance. This is the classic, simple burner for beginners and for experienced incense lovers, and a good-value gift for a housewarming.

Light the tip of a backflow cone, let the flame go out, and rest the cone in place. The smoke is heavier than air and flows down in soft swirls, a quiet pleasure for a desk, shelf or bedside table. Never leave burning incense unattended. Keep a small dish nearby for spent cones, and enjoy the slow rhythm of the smoke.
