About this piece
Borage oil, also known as starflower oil, is a golden yellow oil with very little scent and a slightly rich, thick texture. It is a lovely, gentle base for skincare recipes and blends with essential oils.
The borage plant, with its bright blue star-shaped flowers, is native to the eastern Mediterranean and now grown across Europe and North America. The oil is cold pressed from its seeds, sourced from Europe, and is naturally very high in omega 6. It is used in face serums, moisturisers and aromatherapy blends.
Add a few drops to a homemade serum or cream, or blend with essential oils and a lighter carrier for massage. Patch test before first use. Store in a cool, dark place and use within one year.
