Brass Door Knocker – Cat's Head
About this piece
A sleek brass cat's head, ears pricked and gaze steady, waiting on your front door to announce every visitor. The metal has a warm golden glow when new and slowly deepens to a soft, lived-in patina, so the knocker grows more characterful with every season it spends outdoors.
Cats have long been the companions of cunning folk and hedge witches, and a cat at the threshold feels like a quiet guardian for the home. Each knocker is made by a family-owned workshop in Indonesia and built to give a lifetime of service. It makes a charming housewarming present for a cat lover, a new homeowner or anyone restoring a period door.
Fix it at a comfortable height on a wooden front door, a garden gate or even a cottage-style internal door to a study or snug. Choose screws to suit your door, as fittings are not included. Leave it to weather naturally, or give it an occasional rub with a soft cloth if you prefer a brighter shine.
