About this piece
A hand-carved wooden gecko, its long tail and splayed feet frozen mid-scurry, ready to hold your door open with a touch of character. Smooth, sturdy and full of personality, it is a doorstop with a sense of humour.
Each gecko is individually hand-carved by skilled artisans in Bali from Jempinis, a sustainably managed Indonesian hardwood. In Bali, geckos are welcome house guests and are said to bring good luck to a home. It makes an amusing, thoughtful gift for reptile fans, travellers who have visited Indonesia, or anyone who loves quirky décor.
Wedge it against an internal door on a breezy day, or let it climb across a shelf or windowsill as a decorative piece. It looks especially good alongside plants and other carved animals.
