A polished sphere bonded from seven colourful gemstones, each shade layered through the stone like a painted sunset. It is smooth, weighty and cool, about 40-50mm across, and it rolls easily in the palm.
Handmade in India by artisans, each piece is crafted from stones in seven colours, one for each chakra. Traditionally the chakras are the body's seven energy centres, from root to crown, and many people use chakra stones as a focus for meditation and mindfulness. The sphere is a symbol of wholeness, which makes this a lovely gift for a yoga teacher, a meditator or a friend who loves colour.
Hold it during a few slow breaths, or let it sit on a shelf, desk or altar where the colours catch the light. Pair it with a stand to display it at its best. Dust it with a soft dry cloth.
