Fennel Essential Oil has a sweet, warm, aniseed-like aroma with a fresh, slightly peppery edge. Steam distilled from the crushed seeds of sweet fennel, Foeniculum vulgare var. dulce, this 50ml bottle brings a clean, herbal sweetness to blends.
Fennel takes its name from the Latin foenum, meaning hay, and in medieval England it was known as fenkle. The Romans, Egyptians and ancient Chinese all valued it, and folklore links it with long life, courage and strength; it was hung over doorways at midsummer to keep mischief away. A characterful oil for experienced blenders and lovers of herbal lore.
Use a few drops in a diffuser or burner, blended with citrus or lavender, or add a little to a carrier oil. Dilute before use on skin and use in small amounts. Avoid during pregnancy and breastfeeding, and do not use if you have epilepsy. Keep out of reach of children. Never leave a lit burner unattended.
