West Indian bay is a different tree from the kitchen bay laurel, but bay leaves in general have a long reputation in folk practice for luck, protection and written wishes. A fitting gift for a kitchen witch or a lover of old traditions.
It blends happily with orange or cedarwood. A little goes a long way, so start with one or two drops. Dilute before use on skin. If you use an oil burner, never leave the flame unattended.
