Ganpati Antique Gold Relief in Iron Frame – Large, 0.7 x 1m
About this piece
Ganpati looks out from this large relief in a warm antique gold finish, framed in iron and standing about 7m by 1m. The raised detail catches light and shadow across its surface, giving the piece the presence of a small temple carving.
Ganpati, also known as Ganesha, is the elephant-headed Hindu deity honoured as the remover of obstacles and the patron of new beginnings, which is why his image is often placed at entrances and at the start of a venture. It makes a meaningful gift for a new home, a new business or a significant birthday.
At around 22kg this is a heavy piece, made from fibre cement, so plan its home carefully. It needs strong wall fixings suited to the weight, or a sturdy place to lean against a wall, and it looks best in a hallway, courtyard-style space or large living room.
