Green Man Tree Trunk Carving – Large, 25x19cm
About this piece
A wise, leafy face peers out from a carved tree trunk, eyes half-hidden among the foliage. This large Green Man carving, roughly 25x19cm, has an ancient, watchful presence that feels right at home in a garden or by the hearth.
The Green Man, the spirit of the wild wood, appears carved in medieval churches across Britain and is a symbol of rebirth and the life force of spring. This carving is fashioned in Bali from offcuts of Chinaberry and hibiscus trunks, so each piece is unique. It makes a wonderful gift for gardeners, pagans and anyone who feels a connection to the old woods.
Place it on a patio, nestled among ferns in a shady border, or in a conservatory. Indoors, it makes a striking guardian for a Beltane or Midsummer altar decorated with fresh greenery.
