Statues & figures

Statues and figures for altars, shelves and gardens: Buddha statues, brass Buddha figures, Ganesha miniatures, animal carvings and fish carvings. Choose a Buddha statue or a figure in a size and finish that suits your home.

How to choose a Buddha statue

Choose the size and the pose. The Antique Buddha Classic and Standing statues have a weathered, aged finish, while the Black and Grey Buddha in Medium suits a modern space. The Brass Buddha Figures at 6.5cm to 10cm, in Blessing, Hands Up, Lying Down, Med Head and Thinking poses, are small enough for a desk or altar.

Each pose has a traditional meaning. A seated Buddha is often associated with meditation, a standing Buddha with teaching, and a reclining Buddha with rest. Choose the pose that speaks to you.

Ganesha and other figures

The Brass Miniature Gods in Ganesha come in two sizes, 37mm and 49mm. Ganesha, the elephant-headed god, is traditionally honoured in Hindu tradition as a remover of obstacles and a patron of new beginnings, which makes him a popular gift for a new venture or home.

Our Fish and Turtle Carvings, with Copis Drop, are decorative pieces in aqua, bluewash and natural, and the Brass Elephant Head Door Knocker adds a distinctive welcome.

Where to place a statue

Position a statue respectfully, on a shelf or altar at about eye level or above, not on the floor. Dust it with a soft cloth, and wipe brass gently without harsh polish.

Create a quiet corner with incense, an incense holder and a singing bowl.

Questions and answers

Where should I put a Buddha statue?

Place it respectfully on a shelf, table or altar, ideally above the floor and not in a bathroom or other place that feels disrespectful. Many people choose a quiet, calm corner.

What do different Buddha poses mean?

In Buddhist art, a seated Buddha often represents meditation, a standing Buddha teaching or welcome, and a reclining Buddha restfulness. Hand gestures called mudras add further meaning to each figure.

Who is Ganesha?

Ganesha is the elephant-headed Hindu deity, traditionally honoured as a remover of obstacles and a god of new beginnings. Many people give a Ganesha figure for a new home or venture.

How do I clean a brass figure?

Wipe it with a soft dry or slightly damp cloth and dry it thoroughly. Avoid harsh polish or abrasive cleaners. Orders are dispatched within 1-2 working days, with free UK delivery over £40.
