About this piece
A medium glass bowl shaped over a piece of Gamal wood, with a soft curve and a gentle translucence. The wood beneath is knotted and honey-coloured, and the bowl fits it perfectly, shaped by its twists.
Molten glass on wood is a Balinese-inspired craft in which glass is shaped over a piece of natural Gamal wood and left to harden into its curves, so the glass fits the timber like a hand in a glove. No two pieces are alike, and it makes a gift with real character for a plant lover or a new home.
Use it for a cutting in water, a small succulent, dried flowers or a handful of crystals. Wipe the glass with a soft damp cloth and the wood with a dry one, and keep the wood from sitting in water.
