About this piece
A medium-sized Buddha seated in meditation, his hands resting in his lap, painted in teal and gold. The pose is still and balanced, and the colouring is rich enough to draw the eye without overpowering a room.
Cast in resin and finished by hand by Bali artisans, this figure shows the Dhyana mudra: both hands in the lap, the back of the right hand resting on the palm of the left, thumbs touching to form a mystic triangle. It is the meditation mudra, symbolising wisdom. A lovely present for someone beginning to meditate or who needs a calmer corner.
Place it on a desk, shelf or bedside table as a visual cue to pause. Take three slow breaths in front of it before you begin your day. If you light a candle nearby, never leave it unattended.
