About this piece
A hand carved wooden elephant in white and gold, its trunk raised and its body patterned with fine detail. It has the old-world charm of a Balinese temple carving, softened by the pale finish.
Carved in Indonesia from albasia wood, a fast-growing sustainable tree found across South East Asia, each elephant is made by hand, so colour, design and size vary slightly. Elephants stand for wisdom, courage and strength, and ornamental ones are said to bring good luck, which makes this a lovely gift for an elephant lover or a new home.
