Pro Djembe Drum – Freedom Rhythm, High Pitch, Medium 40cm
About this piece
Crisp, bright and quick to speak, the Medium Pro Djembe in Freedom Rhythm combines a higher pitch with flowing engraved patterns on a 40cm carved wooden body. The Freedom Rhythm design covers an 18cm drum head, with rope tuning around the shell.
The higher voice cuts through beautifully in a group, so it suits drum circles, music sessions and spontaneous playing at home. It balances portability with a fuller sound than the small djembe, and it is comfortable for both beginners and experienced players. A good gift for a rhythm lover who likes a clean, expressive look.
Rest the drum between your knees and play open tones with your fingers loose near the rim, adding bass notes with a flat palm in the centre. Start with a steady pulse, then layer patterns. It is lovely to play at the end of a long day to shake off tension.
