Patterned Gong in Antique Brown Stand – Black, 80cm

The largest of the line: an 80cm black patterned gong in a brown antique carved stand, with a 1 metre dragon rising above it. It is a commanding piece, and its tone is deep, wide and slow to fade.
Gongs are traditionally used in Bali and Java in temple ceremonies and are now at home in yoga studios. This one is handmade in Bali and designed on a generous scale, which makes it a real centrepiece for a studio, workshop space or spacious room. It is a gift for someone who loves sound and craft, such as a yoga teacher or a dedicated sound bath host.
Place the stand on a firm, level floor and give it plenty of space. Strike the centre of the gong with the 12cm mallet in a slow, controlled swing, and allow the sound to rise and fade completely. Moving it is a job for two people.
