Selenite Ritual Knife – Spiral, Large, 25cm
About this piece
A large selenite ritual knife, 25cm long, with a spiral design running through its pale, translucent stone. Selenite has a satiny glow, with fine lines of light running through it, and at around 267g this knife has a pleasing heft in the hand.
The spiral is one of the oldest symbols there is, found on standing stones across the British Isles, and stands for growth, journeys and the turning of the seasons. Selenite is traditionally linked with calm and clarity, and a knife of this kind is used in the manner of an athame, to point and trace rather than to cut. It is a beautiful gift for a witch who likes pale, moonlit tools, or a collector of selenite.
Use it to draw a circle on the floor, point to the four quarters or direct your intention while meditating. Selenite is soft and dissolves in water, so keep it dry and wipe it only with a dry cloth. Each piece varies in pattern and shade, and is displayed best on a stand or altar cloth.
